Elizabeth II was conceived on April 21, 1926. She wed Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh, in 1947; he withdrew from royal duties in 2017 and passed away on April 9, 2021, making him the longest-serving consort in British history. Charles, Anne, Andrew, and Edward were their four children. After her father passed away in 1952, she succeeded the throne, and at the age of 25, she was crowned on June 2, 1953.

She was the monarch of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the leader of the commonwealth before she passed away. Also she was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her life and served as monarch of 15 of them at the time of her death.

She had the second-longest reign in the history of monarchs worldwide, the longest in the British monarchy, and the longest recorded of any female head of state in history. She ruled for a total of 70 years, 214 days.

Prince Charles, her first child, has taken the throne as King Charles III, the first since the reign of the first Charles in 1685.
